Oratorium in Kosovo

On 26th and 27th September 2025 I conducted the concerts in Prishtina and Skopje. Together with the Orchestra and the Choir of the Kosovo Philharmonic, as well as with the soloists: Adelina Paloja, Ewa Menaszek, Piotr Kalina and Grzegorz Szostak, we performed two compositions written by Mendi Menqjigi: Symphonic Pain for orchestra and the Oratorium Homagium Matri Theresiae. Both are great compositions! For the first time I conducted the Menqjigi’s orchestral work, but as for Oratorium, I’ve already performed it 25 years ago in Cracow. I’m really glad that the excellent Oratorium has finally had its performance in the composer’s homeland, where he is so much respected not only as an author of musical works but also as a pedagogue who has already educated i.a. several promising young composers.
